NeXus/Biotrace+ Advanced Practices and screen building for EEG (as well as peripheral measures)
This course is designed for users who have some experience with the Nexus/Biotrace+ system. This course will cover custom channel sets, custom screen building, alterations of existing screens and data analysis features built in to the Biotrace software. We will explore the use of multimedia options such as adding your own music files to your screens and playing video material in different formats. We will focus mainly on EEG applications as examples but the material covered can be easily adapted to for training peripheral measures as well. We will also address adding peripheral measures to EEG training screens for added effectiveness.

- Channel Sets
- 1st 10 channels are input channels defined in the “Sensor Input & Sample Rate Configuration” window (i key)
- Default Channel Set (c key)
- EEG Channels
- Digital (raw or wave) channels derived from input channels 1-4
- Change by clicking on ‘Edit’ button when channel is highlighted
- Digital Channel
- Digital channel derived from Input A
- General Signal Processing
- General signal processing (Amplitude) channel derived from a previously designed digital channel
- FFT Channels
- Frequency analysis (FFT) channel derived from input channel 1-4
- Generally too slow for training
- Other Channel Types
- Other channel types
- Linear algebra
- Coherence & correlation
- Logging function
- Channel Sets
- Default channel set
- 80 channels are never enough
- Modifying the default channel set
- Conflicts in sample rate and source can cause problems
- Creating a new channel set from scratch
- Change the default channel set name and start program
- It will create a blank channel set with 70 undefined channels
- You can save it under another name
- Screen Creation
- Creating a basic template to change for each session
- Creating screens for each possible intervention
- Creating screens for individual clients
- Using a screen to train multiple signals or to focus on individual signals
